SAFE® XXLX8000 Tube with Screw Cap and Side Code

The SAFE® XXLX8000 Tube is designed for very large sample volumes with a working volume of 8,000 µl. In this version, the tube is equipped with a screw cap and side coding and is suitable for applications where high-volume samples need to be stored safely and identified clearly. Despite its size, the tube remains compatible with a standardized SBS 24 rack format.

SAFE® XXLX8000 Tube without Visible Side Code

This version of the SAFE® XXLX8000 Tube shows the tube in a clean design without visible side coding. Unique identification is still provided by the 2D code on the bottom of the tube. This makes the tube suitable for structured storage workflows with very large sample volumes, even when no additional visible side marking is required.

The underside of the SBS 24 rack shows the 2D codes of the inserted SAFE® XXLX8000 Tubes. This illustrates how each sample can be uniquely identified and automatically read directly in the rack. The LVL Tube Laser Marker TLM 864:
Although the automation-friendly Data-Matrix code on the bottom of storage tubes has been standard for many years—and has greatly simplified sample handling—many users want to mark the tubes with their specific information. At the same time, they want to move away from time-consuming and unreliable labeling methods.

For this need, LVL has developed a fully automatic tube laser marker. The TLM 864 can automatically laser-mark SAFE® tubes in SBS 96, SBS 48, and SBS 24 formats from two sides and link the information in a database with the 2D code previously lasered during production. Up to 500 tubes per hour can be coded from nine SBS/ANSI positions.
