Most failures are not dramatic. They are micro-leakages that nobody notices until the sample is thawed for analysis \u2014 years later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is why we test the seal, not the promise.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Validation results for LVL SAFE\u00ae 2D Tubes:<\/p>\n<p>\u25aa 168 hours of LN\u2082 vapour exposure \u2014 no nitrogen ingress detected<br \/>\n\u25aa Mass loss below 0.1 %<br \/>\n\u25aa 15 automated open\/close cycles \u2014 no leakage, no damage to sealing surfaces, no thread abrasion<br \/>\n\u25aa Gravimetric leak testing according to IATA, plus CO\u2082 leak testing<br \/>\n\u25aa Material, thread and seal remained functionally stable throughout<\/p>\n<p>We also made a deliberate design decision: no <strong>O-rings<\/strong>. Elastomer seals can lose elasticity or develop compression set under cryogenic conditions. Instead, SAFE\u00ae tubes use an axial TPE sealing concept \u2014 TPE compressed by PP \u2014 which generates a defined compression force without additional sealing components.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The uncomfortable question for any biobank:<\/strong> when was the last time your sample containers were validated under the conditions you actually store them in?<\/p>\n<p>Not the conditions on the datasheet. The ones in your tank.<\/p>\n<p>What does your validation protocol look like?
